Chukwuka O. Okwumabua

*Board President

Chukwuka O. Okwumabua is a partner at The McMeadoy Group, an engineering firm specializing in design-build, IT solutions, and consultancy services. He is also the founder and CEO of Good Cannon LLC, a multimedia start-up based in Atlanta, Georgia, and co-founder of the travel and event planning company, FMLC LLC. Chukwuka currently serves as President of the non-profit Issele-Uku Association of North America, Atlanta Chapter, and CEO of the Okwumabua Progressive Group (OKPG). He has served in this capacity with OKPG since its formation in 2016.

​

Chukwuka holds an Associate’s of Science in Psychology, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and an MBA International Business from Georgia State University. He maintained a career as a Senior Network Design Engineer and Technical Director at AT&T, over an 18 year period, before going into business and philanthropic services in 2018. Chukwuka is married and lives with his wife and four children in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ifeoma Okechukwu

*Board Vice President 

Ifeoma Okechukwu is currently Chief of Staff for the Nationwide Retirement Institute organization.  She oversees the development of various strategic initiatives for the Nationwide Retirement Institute and is implementing a robust measurement and communication plan to ensure the success of these initiatives.  She has over 9 years’ experience with Nationwide working in Marketing and other roles within various business units of Nationwide. A notable accomplishment was the creation and launch of a Social Security program to provide education and tools for Financial Advisors to support their clients with incorporating Social Security in their retirement plans. 

 

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis.   Ifeoma is the Vice-Chair of the Okwumabua Progressive Group (OKPG).  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and travel.   

She especially enjoyed her time spent living and working in Malaysia.

Gwamnishum C.Okwumabua

*Board Treasurer

Gwamnishum C. Okwumabua is a member and acting Treasurer of the Okwumabua Progressive Group. He is honored to support OKPGs mission of empowering through education, security, and developmental initiatives specifically directed at the advancement of people of African Ancestry. 

 

Gwam holds degrees in Business Admin. Marketing and Real Estate Management. Gainfully employed at Delta Airline Inc. and CEO Founder of iEnner-G Music LLC. a fledgling start-up that affords a platform encompassing entertainment, health/wellness life coaching, and high-profile executive liaison services. An adamant creative at heart, he decided to direct that passion in a social entrepreneurial manner. He has served and supported the Okwumabua        Progressive group since its inception.

Currently, Gwam resides with his pride and joy, Wife of twelve years, and two children in Lithia Springs, GA.

Dr. Ebubechi Okwumabua

Board Secretary

Dr. Ebubechi Okwumabua, MD, MS, MHS is an orthopaedic surgery resident at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX. She is a graduate of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. Her professional interests include maximizing access to quality healthcare globally and serving as a mentor to underserved and underprivileged youth. In her spare time, Dr. Okwumabua enjoys cooking, weight-training, and international travel.

Obiamaka (Obi) P. Madubuko

*Board Member

Obiamaka (Obi) P. Madubuko is a Harvard-trained international anti-corruption attorney. She advises the U.S. and multi-national companies doing business in international markets on a host of compliance issues arising under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), UK Bribery Act, the Dodd-Frank Act, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and other global trade regulations. Obi counsels clients on cybersecurity defense, data privacy law compliance, and data breach response. She also assists clients with internal investigations, risk assessments, and independent audits, as well as drafting, evaluating, and updating corporate policies to ensure compliance.

In addition to her corporate advisory work, Obi is an experienced trial lawyer who has defended individuals and corporations in complex civil litigation and white-collar criminal cases. She has represented clients before state and federal courts and agencies, including the United States Congress, the United States Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Federal Election Commission, and other federal and state authorities. Ndubuisi Rita White 

*Board Member

Ndubuisi Rita White is a practicing attorney who specializes in criminal, appellate (civil and criminal) defense, and family law. She has owned and managed her own law firm since 2010. Ndubuisi Rita White was born in Ann Arbor, MI

Ndubuisi Rita White has been in practice for over 18 years. She has handled hundreds of criminal trial and appellate cases involving but not limited to homicides, juvenile, robberies, drug trafficking, and financial crimes cases. She also regularly handles trial and appellate level child welfare parental termination cases. She serves as President of the Black Women Lawyers Association of MI.

She is the past President of the Vanzetti Hamilton Bar Association and currently the VHBA Treasurer.

She is an active member of several local bar associations such as the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (Wayne & Washtenaw chapters), the Washtenaw County Bar Association, and the Wayne County Criminal Defense Bar. She also serves as secretary of the Juvenile Law Association of Michigan and also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan.

Ndubuisi Rita White serves as the lead singer in a local band called “Soul What”.

Chiwuzo Ife Okwumabua

*Board Member 

Chiwuzo Ife Okwumabua (Chi Ife) has worked in the nonprofit arena for over ten years and has had the pleasure of being one of the founding board members of the Okwumabua Progressive Group. She has a background in Arts Administration, Marketing and Event Management. In 2002, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Georgia State University and received a Master’s degree in Arts Administration from Savannah College of Art And Design (Atlanta) in March 2012.

Akumdi Okwumabua

Board Member

Akumdi Okwumabua is a Unit Director with Boys & Girls Club of Greater Memphis, Porter Goodwill Unit. He is the leader of a dedicated Club team who leads various programs and operations for youth, enabling them to realize their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. He graduated from Southern University and A & M College, with a bachelor degree in Psychology. He is also talented and has experience with visual arts and digital design. These skill sets assist in marketing OKPG, in order to reach it’s mission and vision.

Nmadili Okwumabua

Board Member

Nmadili Okwumabua is an Urban Planner, Professor of African Architecture, and Urban Design. Her passion for design is rooted in a vision where communities in Africa and the Diaspora are developed with new architectural languages that celebrate the aesthetics and culture of the people today.  In 2005, she founded Southern Sahara USA, a design consultancy service specializing in the research and development of this new architecture, which she promotes through exhibitions and lectures.

 

Nmadili Okwumabua attended the University of Tennessee and Georgia State University, where she pursued her undergraduate studies in architecture and urban planning. Her career as a built environment professional spans over 20 years.

Ugo Okwumabua

Board Member

Ugo Okwumabua is a Mechanical Engineering Professional with a diverse background in engineering design, project management, and overall design and integration of theme park attractions. He has worked on engineering projects both domestic and abroad and has a proven track record of completing projects that deliver on all specifications and on schedule.

 

He holds a BSME from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Southern California. Notable projects completed include multiple attractions at Shanghai Disneyland Resort and Rise of the Resistance at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
